Do Bodybuilders Really Need Supplements?:
To supplement or not to supplement? That is the question, and an important one at that. Do bodybuilders really need supplements? Let's examine that question.
The question seems to be, "do we really need supplements"? But the answer to that completely depends upon what it is that we do or do not need them for.
Let's examine a couple of different definitions. More »

Creatine: Not just a sports nutrition supplement (by Will Brink):
Readers of the March 2003 issue of Life Extension magazine should recall the
long list of potential medical, performance and anti-aging effects of creatine.
The article outlined the substantial body of research that found creatine may
help with diseases effecting the neuro muscular system, such as muscular
dystrophy and may have therapeutic applications in aging populations, wasting
syndromes, muscle atrophy, fatigue, myopathies, Parkinson's disease,
Huntington's disease and other mitochondrial cytopathies. Several studies have
shown it may reduce cholesterol by up to 15% and has been used to correct
certain inborn errors of metabolism, such as people born without the enzyme(s)
responsible for making creatine. More »
What's the most anabolic bodybuilding substance?:
Question: What's the most anabolic bodybuilding substance you can get your hands
on? If you answered "food" you're absolutely correct. That's right food, because
without a good supply of quality food in the right proportions, and of the right
kinds, all the training or supplements in the world won't do you a bit of
good. For the purposes of this article I will not be explaining all the
in's and out's for each of the different food groups or their compositions such
as carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, and minerals, but instead will focus
on what many consider to be the highest quality food protein known to man in the
entire world - chicken eggs. More »
The #1, Without Question, WORST Thing You Can Do In The Gym
That Will Cost You YEARS Of Frustration! (by The Muscle Nerd):
Sure there are lots of boo-boos you can make in the gym that will short change
your efforts to build the massive body you're after. But one factor stands out
above all the rest from my observations of all the iron jungles I've visited in
my travels…OVERTRAINING! Before you smirk and move on to the next article thinking this one doesn't
apply to you, stay with me for just a bit and see if some of my descriptions of
overtraining don't seem a little...shall we say "too familiar".More »
Simplifying the Bench Press (by Ben Tatar):
One of the biggest
mistakes people make when trying to get their bench max up is training with lots
of sets and reps! Strength gains come very easy, and so do personal records, as
long as you keep the reps down and weight up while attacking your weak points on
the bench press. I remember when I was younger; I thought I knew everything
about Big Benching. Many people including myself have discovered that doing lots
of reps and sets and eating clean will help you attain size and definition which
will impress some women, (they all have their own style) but you won't get
strong. You will only be able to dream of what it would be like to move a big
weight..

22 Steps to Increasing Your Bench Press (by Ben Tatar):
If you want an amazing bench, you won't be able to stay out late and have fun every night because getting enough sleep is very important.
You will need to eat large portions of healthy foods frequently and take supps by the clock, which takes lots of work and becomes expensive.
You will have to fight through pain in the gym to keep going to the next level and live in some kind of pain from the wear and tear on the
body from very heavy workouts. Most importantly, you will have to be in the gym working hard when you wish you could be out doing other
things. To be truly great at anything you need to make it a lifestyle.More »
Calorie Density for Muscular Immensity (by Tom Venuto):
The secret to packing on pounds of solid muscle mass is simple: For the most part, the types of foods you eat on a muscle-gaining program are
the same ones you should eat all the time, whether you want to lose, gain or maintain - you just need to eat more of them. "Just eat more" is easier
said than done, however. It seems like you're constantly shopping, cooking and eating. Sometimes preparing food and eating it can seem like a full
time job! One way to make gaining weight and forcing down all that food less of a chore is to choose foods (or supplements) with a HIGHER CALORIE DENSITY.
By doing so, you can get more calories in the same amount of food.More »
Proprietary Blend Body Building Supplements:
Recently I wrote an article entitled "Terms, Terms, Terms, An Inside look to buying supplements" which can be found on the Gurus and Guests section of my private discussion board. The article
covered many of the misleading marketing terms buyers have to deal with in an attempt to make informed decisions on the supplements they spend their hard earned money on. However,
one term I didn't cover, was "proprietary blend" which in many cases is the most potentially misleading term of them all, though not a term always seen in ads per se, but the side of the bottle.
